FAQs

How do I explain what the Teen Collective is?

The Cincinnati Jewish Teen Collective is focused on today’s Jewish teens, acknowledging Generation Z’s (anyone born between 1995 and 2012) incredible potential and unique challenges, in order to foster a community landscape which prioritizes teen input and experiences. Every individual and organization engaging teens plays an integral part in achieving this goal. Together, we can elevate the experience of teens already engaged and connect more teens to each other and to our community.

Is it ok if my Venture Award idea isn’t overtly Jewish?

Yes! There are many things that an event or program can accomplish. Sometimes it might be a traditional Jewish experience and sometimes just being with Jewish friends makes it “Jewish.” The Venture Award application will step you through the different ways your idea can impact those who participate.

I don’t have an idea for a Venture award, Can I still be involved?

There are plenty of ways to get involved in Cincinnati. If you can’t find something that looks interesting on this page, contact us and we’d be happy to talk more. And stay tuned, the next Venture Award might be the opportunity you’ve been looking for!

Why is it called the Teen Collective?

For us, the Collective represents all efforts taking place in Cincinnati to provide support and development to Cincinnati Jewish teens. Collaboration plays an important role in this effort, and so does the time you spend with a mentor, advisor, volunteer, or teacher. In recognizing both our collaborative and individual efforts, we support the varied experiences that make up our Jewish journey, collectively.

Then why SHOULD I get involved?

Because it’s fun. Because you get to hang out with people your age who share your interests, and do cool stuff that will help make the world a better place. Do you need a better reason?
